Belinda Obiageli Kalu
Mrs. Belinda Obiageli Kalu LL.B (HONS) UNN, B.L, obtained an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1975 and was called to the Bar in 1976. Immediately after her youth service, she became a pupil state counsel in the Ministry of Justice of Enugu State. She later transferred her service to Edo State where she rose through the ranks to become the Director of Public Prosecutions in 2004. In the same year, she was appointed the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Edo State Ministry of Justice, a position which she occupied until February, 2010, when she retired from public service.
She is a seasoned legal practitioner, with appearances in several sensational cases at the High Courts, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, in Nigeria. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. Presently, she is engaged in private legal practice.
